What is an AI image and video editor?

Which edits cost credits and which are free?
Anything deterministic is free: cropping, aspect-ratio presets, trimming, overlays, audio adjustments, brightness and contrast. Those run as a local transform with no AI model involved. The three AI image operations — modify/remove, expand/outpaint and background replace — cost 21 credits each, quoted before you commit and charged only on success.
Does editing overwrite my original file?
No. Every edit is saved as a new derivative asset in your library and the source is left intact, so you can re-edit from the original at any time or publish both versions.
Can I edit video that VibeDay generated, not just video I uploaded?
Yes. Uploaded and AI-generated assets are treated identically — same library, same editor, same functions. Where a function doesn't apply to a file type the control is hidden rather than shown broken.
Can it extend a photo to a different shape without cropping?
Yes — that's the Expand operation. It composites your image onto a larger canvas and the AI paints only the new margin, so your original pixels are preserved and nothing is cut off. It's the usual fix for turning a square or landscape photo into a 9:16 story frame.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Trimming, cropping, captioning and overlays all run in the browser; the final render is produced server-side to the spec of the platform you selected.
Does it track the speaker's face when cutting long videos?
No. VibeDay's clipping does not do active-speaker face tracking or clip search, so it suits talking-head and interview footage rather than fast multi-speaker edits. If reframing around a moving speaker is your main need, a dedicated clipping tool will serve you better.
