If you make content about AI tools, social media or small-business marketing, recurring affiliate commission is one of the few income streams that keeps paying after the video goes out. But programs that look alike on the headline number differ a lot underneath: how long you're paid, how long the cookie lasts, whether paid ads are allowed, and what has to happen before a commission is approved.

We read the affiliate pages and terms of thirteen AI content, scheduling and video tools in October 2026 and put the numbers side by side. Terms change, so treat this as a starting point and check each program's own page before you apply.

Disclosure: this post is published by VibeDay, and VibeDay runs one of the programs below. We've used the same sources and the same columns for every program, including our own.

Key takeaways

  • Most programs in this space pay 20–35% recurring. A few pay for the customer's lifetime; most cap it at 12 months.
  • Cookie windows run from 30 to 90 days. A longer window matters most if your audience researches before buying.
  • Every program that publishes a paid-ads rule bans bidding on its brand name, and three ban paid ads entirely.
  • Look past the rate: length, approval rules and payout minimums decide what you actually earn.

The 13 programs at a glance

Figures come from each company's own affiliate page or affiliate terms, read in October 2026. Where a company's own pages disagreed, or the detail wasn't published, we say so rather than guess.

How to compare affiliate programs (beyond the headline rate)

1. How long you're paid

A 35% rate for three months can pay less than 20% for life. Work it out on a typical plan: multiply the monthly price by the rate and by the number of months you're paid. Lifetime programs reward audiences who stick with a tool; 12-month programs reward volume.

The cookie is how long after someone clicks your link a sign-up still counts as yours. Software buyers often compare tools for a few weeks, so 60–90 days gives you room. Check whether the program uses last-click attribution: if your viewer later clicks another creator's link, the sale usually goes to them.

3. Approval rules and payout minimums

Many programs hold a commission until the customer's refund window has passed, or until a second payment, and most have a payout minimum ($20–$200 in this group). None of this is bad, but it changes how quickly money reaches you. Read the terms for when a commission becomes approved, not just when it's created.

4. Paid-ad rules

If you plan to run ads, read this section twice. Predis, Buffer, Metricool, Synthesia and VibeDay ban bidding on their brand name; SocialBee and Publer ban paid ads altogether, and HeyGen bans paid search. Several others don't publish a rule, so ask before you spend. Breaking these rules is the most common reason commissions get reversed.

5. Who the program is for

Some programs only accept existing customers (Buffer) or creators above a follower threshold (HeyGen requires 5,000+). Applying to programs that fit what you already make gets you approved faster, and converts better, than chasing the highest rate.

Disclose every time

In the US, the FTC expects you to make an affiliate relationship clear wherever you recommend the product: in the video itself (said and shown), not only in the description, and before or next to the link. Most programs make this a condition of the agreement. A simple line like "I earn a commission if you sign up through my link" covers it.

Keep a short note of each program's rules (paid ads, coupon sites, disclosure wording) next to your links. It's much easier than re-reading five agreements before every video.

Where VibeDay's program fits

VibeDay is an AI content tool for small brands: it creates images, carousels and video, then publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Partners earn 25% of each subscription payment for a referred customer's first 12 months, rising to 30% once 10 of their referrals are paying. The cookie lasts 60 days, payouts go through Stripe, and every application is reviewed by hand. It suits creators, social media freelancers and educators whose audience runs a small business.

What is a recurring commission affiliate program?

One that pays you a share of every subscription payment a referred customer makes, not just the first. Programs differ on how long that lasts: some pay for the customer's lifetime, most for 12 months, a few for only a few months.

Which AI tool affiliate programs pay for the customer's lifetime?

In our October 2026 check, Predis.ai (30%) and SocialBee (20%) advertised lifetime commission. Ocoya's own pages disagreed between lifetime and 12 months, so check its current terms.

Can I run Google ads to my affiliate links?

Usually not on the brand's name: most programs ban brand bidding, and some ban paid search entirely. Programs that allow other ads often hold ad-driven commissions for review. Read the paid-ads section of each agreement before spending.

Do I need a big audience to join?

Not for most programs. HeyGen asks for 5,000+ followers and Buffer only accepts its own customers, but many programs review applications on fit rather than follower count.

How often do these terms change?

Often, and without much notice. Rates, cookie windows and promotions move several times a year, so use this comparison to shortlist and confirm the current terms on each program's own page.
