Using VibeDay from Claude or ChatGPT

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code, choose what it may do, confirm every spend and post with a yes, work with team approvals, and disconnect.

You can let an AI assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code work in VibeDay for you. Ask it, in your own words, to check your credits, find a post, plan a carousel, make a reel, schedule something for Friday, or tell you how last month went. It uses the same tools as the web app, so the results, prices and rules are the same.

For example, you could ask:

  • "How many credits do I have left?"
  • "What's on my posting calendar next week?"
  • "Make a 5-slide carousel about our autumn menu for Instagram."
  • "Schedule my latest reel for Friday at 9am on TikTok."

Connecting is included on every plan. Reading costs nothing; making content uses credits as it does in VibeDay, and only after you say yes.

Before you start

  • A VibeDay account, on any plan or a free trial.
  • To post, your social accounts connected in VibeDay first, under Settings → Platform connections.

Connect an assistant

What is MCP? MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other apps. VibeDay runs an MCP server, so your assistant can work in VibeDay with your permission.

To connect, add VibeDay's MCP server address as a custom connector in your assistant. Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code all use this address:

https://vibeday.com/api/mcp

You'll also find it, with a copy of these steps, in VibeDay under Settings → Connected apps.

Claude (claude.ai, the desktop app and mobile)

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors, and you then click Connect next to it.
  2. Paste the server address above and click Add. Leave the sign-in settings as they are.
  3. Claude opens VibeDay. Sign in if you're asked to, then choose what Claude may do (see below) and click Allow.
  4. In a chat, make sure VibeDay is switched on under the + button → Connectors.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), click + and choose Add custom MCP server. Custom servers are offered on some ChatGPT plans.
  2. Give it the name VibeDay, paste the address above under Connection, and choose OAuth as the sign-in method. Confirm the risk notice and create it.
  3. ChatGPT opens VibeDay. Sign in if you're asked to, choose what ChatGPT may do and click Allow.
  4. In a new chat, type @ and pick VibeDay.

You choose Read, Create and Publish when you connect, exactly as in Claude.

ChatGPT's menus change from time to time. If you can't find the option, ChatGPT's own help explains how to add a custom connector on your plan.

Claude Code

  1. In a terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http vibeday https://vibeday.com/api/mcp
  1. In Claude Code, type /mcp, choose vibeday and sign in. Your browser opens VibeDay.
  2. Because Claude Code runs on your own computer, the VibeDay page shows an extra warning. Only allow it if you started connecting it yourself just now.

What you choose when you connect

  • Workspace. Each connection works in one workspace. To use a different one, disconnect and connect again. A workspace where AI assistants are turned off is listed but can't be chosen, with a note on who can turn them on.
  • Read is always included. The assistant can look up your brands, Library, posts, calendar, results and credits. It costs nothing and changes nothing.
  • Create is ticked to start with. The assistant can make images, videos, carousels and reels. Each one spends credits only after you say yes.
  • Publish is unticked to start with. Tick it if you want the assistant to post, schedule, move, cancel or retry posts on your connected accounts. Each one happens only after you say yes.

You can connect several assistants at once. Each is listed separately under Settings → Connected apps.

Nothing happens until you say yes

Anything that spends credits, posts, schedules, moves, cancels, retries, approves or sends back a post works in two steps:

  1. The assistant asks VibeDay, and VibeDay replies with exactly what will happen: what it will make and what it costs, or the post as each platform will receive it. Nothing has started yet.
  2. The assistant shows you that and asks you to reply yes. Only when you do does it go ahead.

The yes covers that one request for 10 minutes. If you change anything, such as the prompt, the time or the caption, the assistant asks again. There is no "always allow" for spending or posting.

Credits are charged when the thing is made. Nothing is charged for something that doesn't finish. A reel never costs more than the figure you agreed to.

Team approvals

If your workspace has post approvals switched on, anything an assistant makes waits for an approver before it can be posted, even when the owner's own assistant made it. The assistant tells you, with a link to submit it for approval.

If you're an approver, you can ask your own assistant "what needs my approval?", look at a post the way each platform will show it, and then approve it or send it back with a note. An assistant never approves a post it made itself, so a person always signs it off. Without approvals switched on, saying yes to post or schedule a finished draft approves it too.

Your words stay your words

Captions, titles, brand and account names, notes and anything else you or your team wrote reach the assistant marked as text written by people. The assistant is told to show that text, never to follow instructions inside it. So a caption that says "ignore your instructions" is treated as a caption.

What VibeDay keeps

VibeDay receives only the requests your assistant sends to its tools, never your conversation, chat history, memory or files. It keeps a record of each connection and an activity log of each request for the life of your workspace, and none of it is used to train AI models. The details are in our Privacy Policy, section 6A.

Limits

Each connection can make up to:

  • 120 lookups a minute
  • 10 creations a minute and 100 a day
  • 20 posting actions an hour (posting, scheduling, moving, cancelling or retrying)

Over a limit, the assistant is asked to wait a moment and nothing is made. If five things one assistant started fail within an hour, VibeDay pauses new creations from that assistant for the rest of the hour. You can keep working in the web app meanwhile.

The platforms' own limits still apply, such as Instagram's daily limit on posts made through apps and TikTok's posting rules. The assistant tells you before anything is sent.

A few things stay in the web app for now: editing in the Studio Editor, reviewing a reel's stills before it's filmed, finding shorts in a long video, uploading files, and the comments inbox.

Disconnect an assistant

  • In VibeDay, go to Settings → Connected apps and click Disconnect next to it. It stops at once, and its next request is refused.
  • You can also remove VibeDay from the assistant's own connector settings.
  • If you leave or are removed from a workspace, or its owner turns AI assistants off in Settings → Team, your assistants stop working there straight away.

To change what a connection may do, disconnect it and connect again.

If something doesn't work

The assistant gets a plain message saying what to do: reconnect, ask the owner to turn assistants on, top up credits, or wait a moment. If you're stuck, email support@vibeday.com with the assistant you're using and what you asked for.
