Troubleshooting the Studio Editor

What loading, saving, render and AI messages mean and what to do, plus expired uploads, the microphone and projects that won't open.

Most problems in the editor sort themselves out, and your project is always safe. This page explains the messages you might see and what to do. If something keeps happening, email support@vibeday.com and a real person will help.

A clip shows "Loading this clip…" or "Reloading this clip…"

The clip is still arriving, or the editor is fetching a fresh link for it. It does this by itself, including after the editor has been open for hours. A slow connection that's still downloading is left to finish.

If you see This clip didn't load, check your connection, then click Try again. If it's still stuck, reload the page. Your project isn't affected.

The same applies to sounds: A sound didn't load comes with a Try again button.

The save status says "Not saved: retrying"

Your latest changes haven't reached us yet, usually because the connection dropped. The editor keeps trying by itself. Check your connection, and don't close the tab until it says All changes saved. If you try to leave with unsaved changes, your browser asks first.

The save status says "Changed in another tab"

The same project was changed in another tab or window. Saving stops so nothing is overwritten. Click Reload in the banner to get the latest version.

My render failed

You'll see Render failed in the top bar, or a red Render step on the post with the reason. Nothing is charged.

  • If it took too long or failed on our side, publish or export again.
  • If some media couldn't be found, replace or remove it, then publish again.
  • If your latest changes didn't save, check your connection and try again.

See Publishing and exporting.

An AI change didn't work

If an AI tool can't do what you asked, you're told why, and nothing is charged. We never retry on your credits.

  • ★ Change the picture: the clip goes back to normal. Click Try again in the clip's settings to put your words back, then describe one change at a time, for example just the light.
  • Remove background: try a clip where the person or product stands out clearly from what's behind them. If the message says something went wrong on our side, your clip isn't the problem: try again in a minute, and contact support@vibeday.com if it happens again.
  • Image tools: the new version is taken off. Try again, or describe it a little differently.
  • Music and Studio voice: the track or cleaned voice is taken off, and the original stays.

If our safety review blocks a result, try describing it differently.

Captions say "We didn't hear any speech"

Captions come from clips you can hear and from voice-overs. Check that the clips aren't muted, and that a voice-over's Kind is Voice. Music and effects aren't captioned.

If transcription fails, try again in a minute, or type captions yourself. If listening takes more than a few minutes, the editor stops waiting and tells you; try again a little later, and if it keeps happening email support@vibeday.com.

"This edit couldn't be opened"

Something in the project's saved timeline couldn't be read. Your original media is safe in your Library.

  • For a reel, click Rebuild from the reel. It sets the old edit aside and builds a fresh one. Your reel is unchanged.
  • For anything else, open the video again from your Library to start a fresh project.

"The original upload has expired"

Uploads you aren't using are removed after 7 days. Anything used in a saved project or a post is kept. If you see Original expired, upload the file again to edit it.

The microphone won't start

  • Microphone access is blocked: click the icon in your browser's address bar, allow the microphone, and try again.
  • No microphone found: plug one in, or pair headphones with a mic.
  • Couldn't start the microphone: close other apps that are using it, then try again.

Only the editor page can use your microphone.

A change didn't do anything

Check whether the track is locked. A locked track's settings say "This track is locked". Click the lock on the track to unlock it.

Two items can't sit on top of each other on the same track, so a move onto a spot that's taken is refused. Make room first. Making a clip longer (a slower speed, a later end, or a freeze) never needs room: the items after it on the same track move along.

I can't find my project

AI Studio → Pick up where you left off shows your three most recent projects. To reopen an older one, open the same video or image from your Library, or click ✎ Continue editing on its post. Your last project for it reopens.

My workspace is read-only

If your subscription has ended or your seat is suspended, a banner explains why. You can still open and watch your projects, but you can't change, publish or export them until the workspace is active again.
